Zuzanna Woloszyn

Zuzanna (Niedzielski) Woloszyn, 84, of Southington, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, February 4, 2024. She had been the beloved wife of the late Stefan Woloszyn for over 49 years.

Zuzanna was born in Kozaczyzna, Poland on May 25, 1939 to the late Jan and Maria (Szczepanowska) Niedzielski. 

Her family was taken from their home in Poland to Siberia, went to Africa then to England where they made their journey to America. They immigrated to Ellis Island in New York where she became an American citizen. She was a longtime faithful parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Church in Southington and was proud of her Polish heritage. She also enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. 

Zuzanna is survived by her son, Joseph Woloszyn and her daughter, Mary Woloszyn, both of Southington, two grandsons, Stefan Woloszyn and wife Willow of New York and Joseph Woloszyn of California and two great-grandchildren, Robert and Hannah. She is also survived by her sister, Jennie Niedzielska and husband Ramon of Danbury and many nieces and nephews, including her special loving niece, Barbara Torda of Newington. In addition to her husband Stefan, she was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Debra Woloszyn, brother, Stanley Niedzielski and nephew, John Gwara.

Funeral services will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2024, from the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville with an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the Immaculate Conception Church, 130 Summer St., Southington. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2024 at the Plantsville Funeral Home.
