Yvette Constance (Ouellette) Karpey, 90, of Southington, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018, with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Theodore Karpey for 37 years. Yvette was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Born in Van Buren, ME on February 1, 1928 to the late Albert and Mary (Leveseque) Ouellette, she had been a lifelong Southington resident.
Yvette enjoyed gameshows, going to the casino, Big Papi and her beloved Red Sox. She was an animal lover and shared her home with many cats over the years. Yvette loved dessert and never missed her nightly sweet treat. She stayed sassy and witty until the end. Most of all, Yvette loved her family and always put them first; raising her two granddaughters, Tricia and Christy, brought her life great pride and joy.
Yvette is survived by three children, her daughter and best friend with whom she shared her home, Doris Caliola and partner Roger Kulesa of Southington; son, Robert Karpey of Meriden and son, Theodore Karpey Jr. and partner Rita Sides of Somerset, MA. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Michael and Melanie, Christy and David, Stephanie and James, Melissa and Bill, Jeffrey, Scot and Heather, Tricia and Kim, Amber and Stephen, Patrick and Jennifer; 7 great-grandchildren, Ariana, Destiny, McKenzie, Alia, Jaxon, Mason and Jayden, and her brother, Philip Ouellette of Middletown. In addition to her husband Theodore, Yvette was predeceased by her son Gary Karpey, daughter-in-law, Cheryl Karpey and twelve siblings.

Yvette’s family would like to extend a special thank you to her hospice nurses, especially America, Dorothy and Angela, for their compassion and excellent care.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in South End Cemetery, Southington.
