Wilfred "Will" A. Fuchs, 85, of the Milldale section of Southington, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, July 7, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the loving and devoted husband of Cecilia (Mayo) Fuchs for over 60 years.
Born August 4, 1928 in Englewood, NJ to the late Herman and Wilhelmine (Dieling) Fuchs, he had been a longtime Southington resident.
Will was a Korean War Veteran who intercepted, decrypted and translated Russian military messages for the U. S. Army. He worked for Curtis Publishing Co. and retired from Charlton Press. He played basketball at Rutgers and loved the Yankees and UConn sports. He coached his sons' Little League teams and was an avid bowler. Anyone who knew the man had no trouble decrypting his unique sense of humor as happiness, love, and compassion. Will had no trouble conveying his love for anyone who ever participated in his life. He will be missed dearly and never forgotten by the countless lives he touched.
In addition to his wife Cecilia, he is survived by two sons: Craig Fuchs and his wife Marnie of Branford and Kurt Fuchs and his wife Wendy of Burlington; four grandchildren: Megan Villanueva and her husband Antonio, Kirsten Fuchs, Ethan Fuchs and Aaron Fuchs. He was also the big brother to Alfred Fuchs and his wife Phyllis of Brunswick, ME. He leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews and his two lifelong family friends, Al Fahnestock and Judith Thibodeau.
