Wesley I. Clark, 89, of Southington, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on Thursday September 9, 2010 at the HCC of Bradley Memorial. He was the beloved husband, friend, and dance partner of Shirley (Skinner) Clark for 61 years.
Born on January 7, 1921 to the late Charles and Gladys (Springer) Clark, he had lived in Southington all his life. Wesley served in the Army during WWII in the 775th Tank Battalion in the Pacific Theatre. He worked as a Rural Mail Carrier in Southington for 35 years. Wesley will be remembered for his love of God and his family. He enjoyed playing badminton, traveling, and dancing.
In addition to his wife Shirley, he is survived by 4 children: Sandra Frazier and husband Raymond, June Kastner, Sheila Oropallo and husband Tony, and Wesley Clark and wife Cathy, all of Southington; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind 3 brothers; Donald, Willard, and Howard Clark. He predeceased by his brothers; Robert and Jack Clark and his son-in-law Jack Kastner.
Funeral services for Wesley will be held at 8am on Tuesday September 14, 2010 from the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St. Plantsville. A Funeral Mass will follow at 9am at St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St. Southington. Burial with full military honors will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held on Monday September 13, 2010 from 4-7pm at the funeral home.
