Warren L. Van Almkerk

Warren L. Van Almkerk, 89, of Cheshire passed away peacefully on December 28, 2014 at The Highlands Health Care Center in Cheshire.

Born on January 14, 1925 in Southington to the late Leonard and Anna (Trostel) Van Almkerk, he had been a longtime Cheshire resident.

Warren retired from Clark Brothers Bolt Company in Southington after 50 years of service. He was an original member of the Cheshire Historical Society, and has been active in his position as assistant curator throughout his membership. Warren was an avid collector of antiques. He was a skilled craftsman and had the amazing ability to fix anything. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and his wonderful sense of humor.

Warren is survived by his sister Lois Van Almkerk of Cheshire, two very dear friends, Bob Demers and Art Childs of Cheshire, who were like family and his best canine pal, Chereḗ.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in South End Cemetery, Southington.
