Virginia “Ginny” Ann Beaudoin Ausanka, 78, died peacefully on Thursday, October 13, 2022. Ginny was born on April 8, 1944 in Hartford, CT to the late Elizabeth (McGee) and Roland Beaudoin.
She moved to Bloomfield when she was eight years old and graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1962. Ginny married John Ausanka on June 19, 1971. The two were each other’s lifelong companions and celebrated 51 years of marriage this year.
Ginny was an avid reader, gardener and traveler who loved spending time at her beach house in Westbrook. She enjoyed taking pictures and creating photo albums to chronicle her years of good times. She also enjoyed baking and generously shared her famous chocolate chip cookies with friends and family. It’s hard to think about Ginny and not remember her sweet tooth, pretty red lipstick and her love for all things fashion and interior design. She also loved a good Post-it note and always had a Kleenex available.
Ginny’s biggest joy was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She never missed a celebration or an opportunity to see them at school or sporting events. As the family’s biggest cheerleader, she offered encouragement, a listening ear and always a sense of humor. Ginny was so loved by her family and will be deeply missed.
In addition to her husband John, she is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Doug Otis and Kristin and Leif Cefalo and her beloved grandchildren, Jack, Will, Ali and Luke. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Beaudoin and sister-in-law, Bettyann Kallaugher, nephews, Ronald, Robert and Richard Beaudoin, niece, Michele Holcomb and many great-nephews, great-nieces and cousins.
Ginny’s family would like to thank the entire staff at UCONN and Hartford Hospitals and Maple View Manor for their compassion and the excellent care they provided for her.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ginny’s memory may be made to Bread for Life, 31 Vermont Ave., Southington, CT 06489 (https://southingtonbreadforlife.org/).
