Vance W. MacDonald, 83, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021 at the Summit at Plantsville. He had been the loving husband of Norma (Condon) MacDonald for 63 years.

Vance was born on September 1, 1938 in Fort Fairfield, Maine to the late Bernard MacDonald Sr. and Betty (Tompkins) MacDonald. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Era.

Vance worked at International Silver for 15 years and retired from Wesleyan University in 2007, after 20 years of service.

Vance loved country music and playing guitar with his friends. He loved to sing and enjoyed dancing with his wife Norma.

In addition to his wife Norma, Vance is survived by his brother Clifford MacDonald and his wife Janet of Winchester, VA, sister-in-law, Anna Pike and her husband Arthur and brother-in-law, Gary Condon and his wife Lorraine, both of Fort Fairfield, Maine and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Bernard MacDonald Jr. and 2 sisters, Naida Harding and Shirley Jette.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at the Plantsville Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington.
