Thomas J. Kyle

Thomas James Kyle, age 72, of Southington CT, passed away on October 21st, in a manner much like he lived, quietly and with dignity. He passed at his home surrounded by loved ones and his trusted dog, Rory.

Thomas was born in Waterbury, CT and was the son of Owen and Rose Mary Kyle. Thomas graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1970.

Thomas married the love of his life, Joanne Deprey Kyle. They enjoyed 40 years of marriage and raised three wonderful children in those years. Thomas went on to be a grandfather to three amazing grandchildren and a fourth on the way.

Thomas worked for the U.S. Postal service for thirty-seven years and retired from the Wolcott office. Thomas went on to work as a Protective Service Officer for the FBI field office for thirteen years. After his second retirement, he went on to work for Bristol Hospital as a Security Officer.

Thomas had a passion for life and enjoyed riding his Harley, physical fitness, bird hunting, and playing baseball in his younger years. Later he found his calling as an umpire across the state and as the head coach of Wolcott American Legion Baseball.

Thomas was a fun-loving man who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. The family would often vacation in Naples, Maine in a small cottage on Brandy Pond.

Remaining to celebrate Thomas’s memory are his spouse, Joanne Kyle; children, Megan Perras, Jeremy Deprey, Josh Kyle and their spouses Amy Deprey, Dan Perras and Debbie Kalita; grandchildren, Sean Deprey, Abby Deprey, Elijah Perras and siblings, Peter Kyle, Mary-Rose Boulanger, Ann Arnold and Jane Kyle-O’Donnell. He also leaves behind a large extended family and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Thomas’s memory may be directed to The Hometown Foundation.  (https://hometownfoundation.org/).

The Hometown Foundation raises money to support a broad range of programs that meet community needs focusing on five key program areas: Animal Welfare, Emergency Response Personnel, Individuals with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities, Major Illness or Those in Need, and the Military.
