Theresa S. Zolnik

Theresa A. (Sollock) (Davenport) Zolnik, 94, of Cheshire and formerly of Plantsville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 21, 2022 at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden. She had been the loving wife of the late John Zolnik for 29 years.

Theresa was born on October 4, 1927 in Czechoslovakia to the late Frank and Judith (Bielsky) Sollock. She worked at General Electric, retiring after many years of service. Theresa was a snowbird and looked forward to spending her winters at her condo in Hollywood, FL. She enjoyed going to the casino, especially playing bingo.

Theresa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Pesino and her husband Chuck of Cheshire, stepdaughter, Cynthia Sitz of TN, stepson Jeff Zolnik of IN,  3 grandchildren; Julie Griffin and her husband James of Mystic, Tracy Speer and her partner Burt of Hudson, FL and Scott Gonzalez of Fort Smith, AR, 8 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Aggie Jagos and her husband Paul of Forestville, her sister-in-law, Joan Sollock of Plantsville, 2 nephews, Allan Jagos and his wife Emily of Southington and Richard Jagos and his wife Jo-Ellen of Rocky Hill and many great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her husband John, Theresa was predeceased by her daughter, Cynthia Wilcox and two brothers, Joseph and Thomas Sollock. 

Theresa’s family would like to thank the entire staff at MidState Medical Center and Hartford Healthcare for their compassion and the excellent care they provided for her.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday,  June 24, 2022 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St, Plantsville. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington.
