Theodore Czarnecki

Theodore 'Ted' S. Czarnecki, 94, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday November 23, 2010 at HCC at Bradley Memorial. He was the beloved husband of Jennie (Aszklar) Czarnecki for 65 years.

Born on January 12, 1916 in Bristol to the late Frank and Anna Czarnecki, he was a long-time Southington resident.

Theodore served his country in the United States Air Force. Piloting a B17 Bomber, returning from his 10th bombing run, he was captured by the Germans and spent 15 months as a POW in a German Prison Camp. He worked as a Systems Operations Supervisor for CL & P for 32 years. He was an avid golfer and bowler and loved playing setback on Tuesday nights at the Falcon Hall.

In addition to his wife Jennie, he is survived by 3 sons: Paul Czarnecki from Bristol, Bob Czarnecki and his wife MaryLou from Harwinton and John Czarnecki and his wife Terry from Washington State and 2 grandsons; Benjamin and Timothy from Boston, MA, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday November 27, 2010 at 9:00am from the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at Immaculate Conception Church, 130 Summer St., Southington. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held on Friday November 26, 2010 from 4-7pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Theodore's memory may be made to the Southington's Lions Club, P.O.
