Stanley J. Sepiol, 81, of Southington, CT passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025 at UCONN Health in Farmington. He had been the husband of Marie (Gurga) Sepiol for 54 years.
Stanley was born in Waterbury, CT on March 9, 1943, only son of the late Stanley A. and Jean (Pacia) Sepiol and had been a lifelong Southington resident. He graduated from Milldale School and then from Cheshire Academy in 1962. He went on to earn his BS in teaching from Central Connecticut State University and his 5th and 6th year degrees from Southern Connecticut State University.
Stan was a lifelong member of the Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church in Plantsville. Stan was the Head Automotive Instructor at Bristol Central High School for 38 years, retiring in 2004. “Mr. Sep” loved his job and always made time to help his students and other teachers with their cars. After his retirement from the school, Stan took a position with the City of Bristol in the Board of Education maintenance department until 2011 and then he worked for Bristol Auto Parts as a delivery driver. Stanley’s greatest passion was cars and he had an extensive knowledge about automotives. He was ASE certified, a Chrysler Master Technician and could make a diagnosis just by listening. Stan was an automotive historian and a member of the Roaring 20s Antique and Classic Car Club where he served as a Past President and Head Judge at the Southbury Training School Car Show for many years. He was also a member of the National DeSoto Club, Walter P. Chrysler Club, Connecticut Thunderbird Club and the Mopars In Motion Car Club. Every year, his favorite trip was going to the Atlantic City Car Show in February where he would be in the flea market all day looking for parts for his cars.
In addition to his wife Marie, Stan is survived by two brothers-in-law, Daniel Gurga and his wife Wendy of Clarksville, TN and Joseph Gurga and his wife Rosemary of Southington, cousins, nieces and nephews and his cherished cats, Buddy and Tory.
Marie would like to extend a special thank you to their dear friend, Peter Varkal, for all of his support and friendship.
