Stanley Gladke

Stanley Gladke, age 95, of Southington, husband of the late Julia (Daniels) Gladke, passed away on October 5, 2010, after a short stay at Southington Care Center, Southington. The last survivor of a family of 12, he was born in Southington on January 17, 1915, to the late Stanley and Sophie (Podobinski) Gladke, and remained a life-long Southington resident.

He was a graduate of New Britain High School and Goodwin Tech in New Britain and retired from New Departure in Bristol in 1980 after 43 years as a tool and die maker. Stanley was also a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church and a member of the Falcon's Club. An avid gardener, he also enjoyed hunting and fishing and had an appreciation for music, especially the violin which he played in his younger years. He and his wife also enjoyed traveling with their children after his retirement.

Stanley is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law; Edward H. and Geraldine Gladke and Joseph S. and Evelyn Gladke, and 1 daughter and son-in-law, Judy G. and Alfred Pucci, all of Southington; also 3 grandchildren, Michael W. Pucci and his wife Kim, Lisa D. Gladke and her husband Chris Rusack, and Mark A. Gladke; 3 great-granddaughters, Hannah Grace Pucci, Haley Juliet Pucci and Laurel Elizabeth Pucci, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 3 brothers and 8 sisters.

Funeral Services will be held Friday October 8, 2010 at 9:00am from the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at Immaculate Conception Church, 130 Summer St., Southington. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Thursday October 7, 2010 from 5-8pm at the funeral home.
