Sharon D. Uliasz

Sharon Daigle Uliasz, 68, of Edgewater, FL and formerly of Southington, CT, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022 after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank W. Uliasz Jr. for 38 years.

Sharon was born on April 1, 1954 at Bradley Memorial Hospital to the late Valdor and Marion (DeCao) Daigle and had been a longtime Southington resident.

She graduated from Southington High School and she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Central Florida, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude, having a 4.0 average.  She began teaching at Deltona Middle School, until she moved back to Connecticut, where she was the “Choices Teacher” at DePaolo Middle School. She loved her job as a teacher and loved the people she worked with. Sharon retired in June 2020 and moved back to Edgewater, Florida. She enjoyed teaching, reading, traveling and watching great movies and TV shows. Sharon will be remembered for being the hostess with the mostess; whether it be a simple family dinner or a holiday, she always made enough food for an army, and always had an open-door policy for people to drop in. Sharon was a volunteer medic for SMVFL, taught CPR for the Parks and Recreation Department and volunteered in numerous school activities, including the JAD/JFK Drama Club.

Sharon was an amazing mother, friend and caregiver. She will be greatly missed by everyone’s lives that she touched. 

Sharon is survived by her greatest joys, her 4 children: daughter, Katie Riccio and husband Jason of Plantsville and their son, TJ; son, Bobby Uliasz and wife Sarka of New Smyrna Beach, FL; daughter, Josie Putnam and husband Scott Sr. and their children, Scott, Michael, Johnathan and Luke, all of Southington and daughter, Amanda Uliasz and her children, Samiah and Aniyliah, all of Coco Beach, FL. She is also survived by her sisters, Tina Carmody and husband John of Cheshire and Valerie Sposi and her husband John of Southington, her brother, Richard Daigle and partner Lee of Rehoboth, DE and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St, Plantsville. Burial of ashes will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held before the service from 9 – 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
