Serge J. Beaudoin

Serge J. Beaudoin, 80, of Southington, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, March 13, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Baylock) Beaudoin for nearly 60 years.

Serge was born on March 22, 1944 in Saint-Valérien, Québec, Canada to the late Marcel and Aline (Cusson) Beaudoin.

He graduated from Pulaski High School, Class of 1963 and enlisted in the U. S. Army National Guard, proudly serving Stateside from 1967 – 1971. Upon his return home, Serge enrolled at Roger Williams University and earned his BS before embarking on a long career in the insurance industry. He was an officer in a Franco-American fraternal organization which gave him the opportunity to travel the world with his wife Kathy. He was also the Associate Director of Admissions at Roger Williams University for many years. Serge enjoyed volunteering and serving in the communities that he lived and worked in. He was a Past President of the Southington Chamber of Commerce and also a Past President of the Jaycees in Providence, RI. Most importantly, Serge was a devoted husband, proud father and loving grandfather.

In addition to his wife Kathy, he is survived by his daughter, Amy Catlin and her husband Ken and two cherished grandchildren, Ryan and Lindsey Catlin, all of Southington. He is also survived by five siblings, Alain Beaudoin (Diana), Carol Beaulieu (Gaetan), Marc Beaudoin (Lori), Richard Beaudoin (Terri) and Sandra Pindar (Vern), his brother-in-law, Andrew Baylock and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Serge was predeceased by two infant brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 28, 2025 at St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St., Plantsville. Military honors will immediately follow. Calling hours will be held before the Mass from 9 – 10:30 a.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
