Sandra J. Michalak

Sandra J. (Moore) Michalak, 75, of Southington, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of William G. Michalak Sr. for 54 years. 

Sandy was born in Hartford on February 16, 1949 to the late Delos and Grace (Stewart) Moore.  Sandy graduated from Southington High School in 1967. She worked at K-Mart for many years and eventually retired from Ocean State Job Lot. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In their younger years, Sandy was active in her kids’ sports teams and she loved going to watch her granddaughter’s softball games. She also enjoyed baking, crafting and reading Danielle Steele books.  

In addition to her husband Bill, Sandy is survived by her daughter, Michele of Southington and two grandchildren, Jazmin and William “Jr.” She is also survived by her sister, Linda DeMello of Southington and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her son, William G. Michalak Jr., her brother, Fred Moore, sister, Donna Moore and brother-in-law, Tony DeMello.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 31, 2024 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington.  Calling hours will be held before the service from 9 – 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
