Ruth G. (Yeske) Kurtz, 91, of Southington passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, November 16, 2022. She had been the loving wife of the late Michael “Mickey” Kurtz for 60 years.
Ruth was born on January 17, 1931 in Canton, CT, oldest child, to the late William and Lillian (Brause) Yeske and had been a longtime Southington resident.
Ruth worked as a secretary at Peck Stow & Wilcox and then Clark Brothers Bolt Co. She had a strong faith in God and was a Past President at the Zion Lutheran Church in Southington where she also taught Sunday School. She enjoyed baking and loved gardening. Ruth was a member of the CT Dahlia Society, as well as a Past President of the Orchard Valley Garden Club.
Ruth is survived by her son Peter Kurtz and his wife Deb of Southington and her son, Matthew Kurtz and his wife Sara of Addison, VT, 3 grandchildren, Rachael and Leah Kurtz of Southington and Jessica Chyinski of HI and many nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by her brothers, David and William Yeske and sisters, Eleanor Kritz and Joyce Yeske.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth's memory may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church, 531 Woodruff St., Southington, CT 06489.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at the Zion Lutheran Church, 531 Woodruff St., Southington. Burial will follow in South End Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held before the service from 10 - 11:00 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church. Plantsville Funeral Home has been entrusted with handling the arrangements.
