Rosemary (Scheppard) Emond

Rosemary (Scheppard) Emond, 77, of Plantsville, passed away peacefully on Saturday August 9, 2014 at The Summit of Plantsville. She had been the loving wife of Stanley H. Emond Sr. for 59 years.

Born in New Britain on June 10, 1937 to the late Matthew and Helen (Szumski) Scheppard, she had been a longtime Plantsville resident.

Rosie loved spending time in her backyard; feeding the animals and enjoying her flowers. She also loved her cats, especially Riley.

In addition to her husband Stanley, she is survived by her daughter Denise Griffin and her husband Patrick of Plantsville and her son Stanley Emond Jr. and his wife Robin of Cheshire; 3 grandchildren: Philein, Shawn and his wife Carla and Hattie; 11 great-grandchildren; her sister Matilda Badger, her brother Matthew Scheppard and her very dear friend and roommate, Ernestine Pelletier and her family who brightened her days at The Summit. She was predeceased by her sister Patricia Was and her baby sister Helen.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Rosemary's memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
