Ronald J. Hardy, 77, of Southington, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 5, 2024. He was the loving and devoted husband of Betty Ann (Taylor) Hardy for 56 blessed years.
Ronald was born on April 4, 1947 in Bridgeport to the late William D. and Fleda (Thomas) Hardy. He graduated from the former Andrew Warde High School in Fairfield, Class of 1965, where he played center on the football team and was the captain of the swim team. Ron went on to earn his bachelor's degree in math and physics from Southern Connecticut State University and worked as a math and science teacher for many years. He was also a skilled carpenter and built several homes alongside his brothers.
Ron’s faith was paramount. He attended Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota and served as a pastor at the Faith Baptist Church in Southington for many years. He was a true outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. He will be remembered for his strong faith and the dedication he had for his family, especially the love he shared for his wife.
In addition to his wife Betty Ann, Ron is survived by 3 children, Ron Hardy and wife Kim of Wallingford, Ray Hardy and wife Kristin of Southington and Rachel Popadic and husband Mark of West Palm Beach, FL and 6 grandchildren, Kate, Ray, David, Helen, Bella and Shep. He is also survived by his brother, Jim Hardy and wife Evy of FL, twin brother, Bob Hardy of Newtown and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 4 siblings, Bill, Marilyn, Barbara and Beverly.

A memorial service will be celebrated at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at the Faith Baptist Church, 243 Laning St., Southington. Plantsville Funeral Home has been entrusted with handling the arrangements. For online condolences, please visit www.plantsvillefuneralhome.com.
