Roger B. Badgley, 75, of Southington, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Theresa (Kania) Badgley of 56 years, and the loving father to their late daughter, Pamela Lynn Neilson.
Roger was born in Southington, CT on August 7, 1948 to the late Milton and Louise (Ripple) Badgley. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and continued to be very patriotic.
Roger worked as a land surveyor since 1972. He loved his job and the people he worked with, most recently employed at Jones Engineering for 16 years. Roger enjoyed being outdoors, whether it be surveying on the job or working in his yard. He will be remembered as being a devoted husband and father and for his spirited sense of humor.
In addition to his wife Theresa, Roger is survived by his older brother, Robert Badgley and brother in-law, David Kania and wife Linda, both of Southington. He had many nieces and nephews, including Bill Kania and his wife Marci and their children Samantha and Rebecca, niece, Carrie Kania, nephews Jonathan Badgley and his wife Lisa, Keith Badgley and his wife Susan and Darren Badgley and his wife Karen, nieces, Sandy Butch her husband Michael, Roxanne Steele and her husband Richard and Rebecca Badgley and his lifelong friends, Joe and Cookie Nemec and Robert and Sharon Sager.
Roger was predeceased by his parents Milton and Louise, his daughter Pamela and her husband Dan Nielson, by his older brother, Bruce Badgley and his wife Shirley, and sister-in-law, Roberta Badgley.
A funeral service will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 22, 2024 at the First Baptist Church, 581 Meriden Ave., Southington. Burial with military honors will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held from 2 – 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S.
