Robert L. Mansolf, Jr. 78, of Southington, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, December 24, 2024. He was the devoted and loving husband of the late Carolyn J. (McKenney) Mansolf for 48 years.
Born in Meriden, CT on June 12, 1946 to the late Robert Sr. and Mildred (Renshaw) Mansolf, he was a longtime Southington resident.
Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked at Pratt and Whitney as an aircraft engine machinist, retiring after 35 years.
Bob was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church of Southington. He was a kind, faithful and patriotic man who loved his family, his friends and his country. He was a member of the American Legion Kiltonic Post 72 in Southington. He enjoyed motorcycles, the beach, playing cards, listening to music, and was an avid fan of Dunkin Donuts coffee, the Boston Red Sox and UCONN Women’s Basketball team.
Bob is survived by three daughters, Tammi Crow and her husband Steven of Worcester, MA, Elizabeth Keene and her husband Frank of Windham, NH and Megan Goff and her husband Bryan of Westport, CT and three cherished grandchildren, Jeffrey and Kaitlyn Keene and Tyler Goff. He is also survived by his sister, Lois R. Weed of Southington and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the First Congregational Church of Southington, 37 Main St., Southington, CT 06489 or to the Hospital for Special Care Foundation, Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program, 2150 Corbin Avenue, New Britain, CT 06053.
A funeral service will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025 at the First Congregational Church of Southington, 37 Main St., Southington. Please meet directly at the church. Burial with military honors will follow in South End Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S.
