Robbie Lee Parker died at her home on Sunday, November 27, 2011 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 82 years old.

Ms. Parker was born on September 24, 1929 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Robert Singleton and Georgia Singleton Patterson. She grew up in New Rochelle, NY where she graduated from New Rochelle High School. A long-time resident of Yorktown Heights, NY, Ms. Parker most recently lived in Plantsville, CT.

She worked in Special Education for the Yorktown Central School District for many years before transitioning to the Somers School District where she retired. Ms. Parker received many awards and accolades from both Districts for her distinguished work.

Ms. Parker cherished her friends and family. She leaves behind four children: a daughter, Colette Fowlkes; a son and daughter-in-law, Maurice and Kim Parker; another daughter and son-in-law, Yvette and James Moore; and youngest son Andre Parker. She also leaves 12 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, a niece Joni Lewis of Atlanta, Georgia and nephew Andrew Lewis of New Castle, Delaware.
