Richard M. Niezgorski

Richard M. Niezgorski, 58, lifelong resident of Southington passed away unexpectedly at HCC of Bradley Memorial on Saturday July 31, 2010. He was the loving husband of Mary (Schlander) Niezgorski.

Richard was born in Southington on November 30, 1951 to the late Alex and Florence (Sokolowski) Niezgorski. He was member of the Air Force Reserve and achieved the ranking of SSGT. After his military service, he was employed at the Griffin Construction Co., Teleco Corp and most currently employed as a designing engineer for Cidra Corporation in Wallingford. He loved spending time with his family, bicycling, gardening and the beach. Richard was also a former vice-president of the Jaycees in Southington.

In addition to his wife Mary, Richard is survived by his 2 sons Mark Niezgorski and Jason Niezgorski, his brother David Niezgorski and wife Patricia, and his sister Kathy Larkin and husband Brian, all of Southington. He also leaves behind his 2 nephews Christopher Larkin and Matthew Niezgorski and his 2 nieces Amanda Larkin and Alisha Bouchard.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday August 4, 2010 at 10am at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St. Plantsville. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday August 3, 2010 from 4-7pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Richard may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, Newington Shelter and Administrative Offices, 701 Russell Road Newington, CT 06111.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday August 4, 2010 at 10am at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St. Plantsville. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday August 3, 2010 from 4-7pm at the funeral home.
