Richard E. Fox

Richard E. Fox, 88, of Southington passed away peacefully on Thursday September 22, 2011 at the Southington Care Center. He was the loving husband of the late Josephine (Voloski) Fox for 57 years.

Born August 28, 1923 in Bristol to the late Ralph and Jessie(Simpson) Fox, he had been a longtime Southington resident.

Richard worked at New Departure as a foreman for 44 years before retiring in 1985. He was proud to be a volunteer fireman for Plantsville Engine Co #2 for many years. Richard served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church and loved to fish and golf.

Richard is survived by his son and daughter-in-law David and Evelyn Lyn Fox of Sandusky, Ohio; his daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth Betty and Brian Collette of Naugatuck; three grandsons: David Fox and his wife Amanda, Richard Fox and Joseph Fox; his brother and sister-in-law William and Jean Fox of FL; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Edward and Eileen Voloski of Southington and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Edward and Erwin Fox and sister Marion Kloter.

Funeral services will be held on Monday September 26, 2011 at 9am from the Plantsville Funeral Home,975 S. Main St., Plantsville, with a Funeral Mass at 10am at the Immaculate Conception Church, 130 Summer St., Southington. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Southington.
