Richard L. Baczewski

Richard Lee Baczewski, 61, of Southington, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday March 4, 2014 at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington. He had been the loving husband of Nancy (Killiany) Baczewski for 40 years.

Born on February 24, 1953 in Bristol, CT to the late Ludomir and Helen (Szalapski) Baczewski, he had been a longtime Bristol and Southington resident.

Richard graduated from Bristol High School. He loved his work as Quality Control Inspector for over 35 years. He worked at many companies in the aerospace industry and most recently in West Hartford at the former Goodrich Corp. In his leisure time, Richard enjoyed his time with family and friends in Otis, MA.

In addition to his wife Nancy, he is survived by his two sons: Richard Steven Baczewski and his wife Sara of Sandy Hook and their 2 daughters, Kailey and Leah; and his son Jason Mark Baczewski and his wife Tresa of Southington and her son Tyler. He also leaves behind his brother-in-laws: David Killiany and his wife Darlene of Winsted; James Killiany of Torrington and Kevin Killiany and his wife Cindy of Meridian, Idaho; his sister-in-law Jo-Ann and her husband Steven Tronina of Torrington; his special aunts, Mary Szalapski and Pat Marchand, both of Bristol and many nieces and nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Pat and Jim Calhoun Cardiology Center, ICU and the Step-down units, for their compassion and excellent care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday March 7, 2014 at St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St., Southington. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
