Raymond D. Angell, 54, of Southington, passed away on Tuesday March 25, 2014 surrounded by his family at HCC at Bradley Memorial. He was the proud and dedicated father of Timothy Angell.

Ray was born on July 17, 1959 in Waterbury; he grew up in New Britain and had been a Southington resident for over 25 years.

Ray was a bus driver at New Britain Transportation for over 20 years and for the last 10 years worked for Manafort Brothers Construction. He was very active in Southington Youth Athletics; involved in baseball, football and wrestling. He was an avid Red Sox Fan.

In addition to his son Timmy, Ray is survived by his stepchildren, Anna and Nicholas Schroeder and their mother Katherine Schroeder of Southington; 2 granddaughters, Bridget and Dallas Schroeder; 2 sisters, Marilyn Karto and Beverly Bouley, both of FL; 5 nephews; Thomas Carlson of Southington, Anthony Carlson of Bristol, Timothy Carlson of Ocala, FL, Ronald Karto and Kevin Karto, both of FL ; and his longtime friends Nadine and John Walton and their daughter Erica and her children: Cierra, Cheyenne and Connor of Southington. He was predeceased by his parents John P. Butler and Mary (Hughes) Butler and several siblings.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday March 28, 2014 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Calling hours will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. before the service.
