Rachel H. (Thibodeau) Saucier, 77, of Southington passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 20, 2012. She had been the loving wife of the late Francis S. Saucier for 39 years.
Born March 10, 1935 in Caribou, Maine to the late Paul and Caroline (King) Thibodeau, she had been a longtime Southington resident.
Rachel was a retiree from Bussmann Manufacturing in Bristol, CT after 35 years of service. She was a member of St. Thomas Church and The Ladies Guild. Rachel was happiest when surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-children.
She is survived by her 5 children: Terry Bouchard and her husband Lester of Plantsville; Christine Stewart and her husband Mark of Southington; Debbie Kleinman and her husband Stewart of Wethersfield; Steven Saucier and his longtime companion Jackie Frugale of Plainville and Gary Saucier and his wife Colleen of Southington; her grandchildren: Michael Stewart and his wife Changhye, Michelle Gawel and her husband Matthew, Jessica and Anne Marie Bouchard, Heather Saucier Darling, Allison Czako and Matthew and Julie Saucier as well as her great-grandchildren, Owen and Olivia Gawel. She also leaves behind her brothers, Robert Thibodeau of Raymond, NH and Reverend Clement Thibodeau and her sisters, Joann Bishop and Maxine Bell both of Caribou, ME as well as several sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and many dear friends, especially Simone Gendreau and Mary Stevens. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to the entire staff in the ICU at HCC at Bradley Memorial Campus for their incredible support and care during a difficult time.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Thursday May 24, 2012 at St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St., Southington. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday May 23, 2012, from 4-8pm at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
