Philip S. Skrzyniarz, 61, of Cheshire, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday February 16, 2014 at Hartford Hospital. He had been the loving husband of Violet (Merriman) Skrzyniarz for nearly 40 years.
Born June 26, 1952 in New Britain, CT to the late Stanley and Irene (Krupinski) Skrzyniarz, he had been a longtime Cheshire resident.
Philip graduated from Pulaski High School in New Britain and earned his Bachelor's Degree from CCSU. He worked at Wasley Products, Coleco and retired from Milton Bradley- Hasbro. Recently, he spent his time caring for his grandchildren who were the light of his life. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was a big kid at heart.
In addition to his wife Violet, he is survived by his 6 children: Tara, Marleen, Holly, Todd and his fiancé© Danielle, Cory and Shawn; 3 grandchildren: Christian, Hailey, and Nichole; his brother Randy and his fiancé© Pat; his mother-in-law Charlotte and her husband Bill Hammick Jr.; his sister-in-law Faith and a large extended family. He was predeceased by his brother Roger Skrzyniarz.
Philip's family would like to thank the entire staff in the Cardiac ICU at Hartford Hospital for their compassion and excellent care.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday February 21, 2014 at the First Congregational Church, 111 Church Drive, Cheshire. Calling hours will be held before the service from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
