Peter J. Janick

Janick, Peter Joseph, 94, of Plainville, passed away peacefully on Valentine's Day Feb. 14, 2012. Peter was the husband of Vera (Sroka) Janick. They celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary on January 6, 2012, showing a commitment made to each other in the eye's of God.

Peter was the son of the late Peter and Mary (Murawski) Janick of New Britain. Peter is survived by his loving children; Barbara Richmond and son-in-law Gordon of Vernon; Joan Lax and son-in-law Michael of Bow, NH; two grandchildren; Dr. Pamela Richmond of Pueblo, CO and Jonathan Richmond and his loving, caring, and devoted wife Sonya of Newington; two amazing great-grandchildren; Peter and Elizabeth Richmond of Newington; his sister Dorothy Carubba and her husband Anthony of New Britain, his sister Jeanette Staschke and her husband Roy of Plantsville and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Nelli Bocwinski and husband Stanley and Vera Uryga and husband Henry and brothers, Stanley and Frank Janick.

The family wishes to acknowledge two special nieces Kathy Lyons and husband Mark and Joanne Piotrowski and husband Peter of Plainville that provided love, care, and support in Uncle Peter's time of need. Also, a blessing in Peter's life was his close friendship with Vic and Anna Kumar and their daughter Jolie.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday February 18, 2012 at the Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church (PNCC), 200 Summer St. Plantsville. Burial will follow in the Holy Trinity PNCC Cemetery. Calling hours will be held prior to the church service from 9:30am to 10:30am at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
