Paul J. Stanish

Paul J. Stanish, 73, of Southington passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday March 18, 2012.

Born in Southington on March 10, 1939 to the late Joseph and Mary (Zygmunt) Stanish, he had been a lifelong Southington resident.

Paul served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a longtime member of the Elks Club in Southington, the Polish Falcons of America, the American Legion Kiltonic Post 72 and the Sons of Italy.

He is survived by three sons: David Stanish and his wife Nancy of Bristol; Michael Stanish of California and Stephen Stanish and his wife Jennifer of Southington; Barbara Benoit, who had been his loving companion for the last eleven years; two sisters, Cindy Kopcza of Bristol and Kathleen Bailey of Southington; six grandchildren: Michelle, Travis, William, Samantha, Chloe and Chase and his former wife and mother of his children, Marcia Stanish of Southington. He was predeceased by his second wife.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday March 23, 2012 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church Cemetery, Southington.
