Paul W. Koeller

Paul W. Koeller, 87, of Southington passed away peacefully on Tuesday Aug. 7, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at the Alzheimer's Resource Center in Plantsville. He had been the loving husband of Phyllis (Glover) Koeller for 52 years.

Born in Meriden on March 24, 1925 to the late Paul and Mina (Hall) Koeller, Paul had been a long time Southington resident.

Paul served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII on PT boats. He was a fast pitch softball player for many years. Paul was also a longtime member of the Grace United Methodist Church. He worked for 50 years at First National Stores and was active in the Meriden Church Bowling league for 65 years.

In addition to his wife Phyllis, Paul is survived by his son David Koeller and wife Sue (Cintula) Koeller of New York and 4 grandchildren: Amy, 14; Lauren, 12; Christian, 6; and David (DJ), 4. Paul's brother Norman Koeller and his wife Mary Koeller reside in South Meriden. He has a brother-in-law, Lawrence (Larry) Glover, and his wife Susan in Portland and another brother-in-Law, Norman Glover, in Sebring, FL, along with several nieces and nephews. His brother Floyd Koeller predeceased him.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday Sept. 8, 2012 at 10am at Grace United Methodist Church, 121 Pleasant St. Southington. Burial with full military honors will follow in Fountain Hill Cemetery, Deep River. Plantsville Funeral Home has been entrusted with handling the arrangements.
