Patricia A. Silva

Patricia A. (Brenker) Silva, 80, of Southington, CT, died January 31, 2025. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Edward S. Silva in 2022. The daughter of Charles and Catherine (O’Brien) Brenker, Pat was born in Santa Barbara, CA and raised along with her 5 siblings in Waterbury, CT. 

A graduate of St. Mary’s School of Nursing, Pat became a Registered Nurse working in the hospital’s ER. She then proudly served in the U S Air Force as a flight nurse. She later became an Occupational Nurse at Stanley Works from which she retired and moved to Palm Bay, Florida. She eventually returned to Connecticut to be near family and friends.

Pat was smart, caring, joyful and a bit mischievous! A variety of interests kept her very busy over the course of her fulfilling life. She loved animals, reading, gardening, playing Rummikub with her family and traveling, especially on cruises. Her Christmas village was precious to her and took months to assemble. Any home she considered moving to had to have a room to accommodate it. Pat was active in many community organizations. A faithful and active member of the Grace United Methodist Church, she treasured her time singing in the choir, serving on the worship committee and participating in many other ways.

Well loved by her family and many cherished friends, Pat will be sorely missed. How lucky we were to have known her.

Pat is survived by her son, Frank James III and his wife Susi of San Diego, CA, her stepson, Edward K. Silva and his wife Melissa, her grandchildren, Jessica, Samantha and Alex James and her great-grandson, Jackson. She is also survived by her siblings, Mary Beth Addona, Robert (Shey), Harry, Charles (April) and Kevin (Diane) Brenker, many nieces and nephews and a large, loving extended family. In addition to her husband and her parents, Pat was predeceased by her son, Brian P. James and stepchildren, Robin Balogh and Andrea Silva.

 In lieu of flowers donations in Pat’s memory may be made to the Capital Fund, Grace United Methodist Church, 121 Pleasant St., Southington, CT 06489. 

A memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Grace United Methodist Church, 121 Pleasant St., Southington, CT 06489.
