Patricia "Patsy" Hatje

Patricia Hatje, longtime resident of Ridgeland in Wallingford, died peacefully on December 9, 2022.  She was born in Toronto, Canada on September 3, 1933, and moved to Connecticut. She was predeceased by her parents, Maxwell and Brigid Marshall.

Pat enjoyed reading, going to tag sales, listening to music (especially John Denver), and taking trips to Port Jefferson and Cape Cod.  Her many escapades on the Cape with her best friend Sue Parker will provide happy memories for those who knew her. 

Pat worked for many years at Dime Savings Bank in Wallingford, starting as a teller and moving up to a Vice President position.  Her office was frequented by many people who stopped by not only for business, but also to chat or just say hello. She made lifelong friends at the bank and truly enjoyed working.  Family was very important to Pat. She spent most of her life in Ridgeland with her father, Maxwell Marshall, and her five children.  She spent her time raising her children and the many dogs who were close to her heart. Her home was a gathering place for people and it was always open to friends and family. She made lifelong friends with many of her Ridgeland neighbors.

Pat is survived by her children; Mark Hatje and Yizza Galdamez, Joanne and Tim Ramsey, Paula Hatje, Donna Truncali and Carolyn Hatje; her grandchildren: Rick Truncali, Nick Truncali, Kris Truncali and Laura, Amy Ellies and Darius, Robyn Kaufman, Brian Eldridge, Max Eldridge and McKenzie Peterson, TJ Ramsey, Lizzy Ramsey and Kurt Schnaars and Gaby Santiago and one great-granddaughter, Quinn Truncali. She is also survived by her brother, Ronald Marshall, her sister, Mary Marshall and her dear friend, Lorraine Velardi.

Pat was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.   She will be remembered for her love of her family and friends, her sarcastic wit, and sense of humor. She will be dearly missed.
