Patricia A. (Herron) Coffey, 87, of Southington and formerly of Enfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 14, 2025 at HOCC of New Britain. She was the beloved wife of Alan Coffey for 46 years.
Patricia was born on February 8, 1938 in Hartford, CT. She attended Trinity College and earned her degree in teaching from Central Connecticut Teacher’s College. Pat worked at Trinity College and then at ESPN as a contract administrator, retiring in 1999.
Patricia loved to sing and was a member of the Sweet Adelines International Chorus for 50 years. She also sang Tenor with her International Champions Quartet, "The Musical Cheres," competing and winning the Region 1 Championship two times. Pat enjoyed gardening, antiquing, history and everything Irish. She loved trips to the beach, especially Cape Cod, and had the opportunity to travel extensively with the Sweet Adelines.
In addition to her husband Alan, Patricia is survived by two daughters, Jean Campochiaro and her husband James of Southington and Mary Zavisza of San Jose, CA, two stepdaughters, Deborah Coffey of Watertown and Diane Corona and her husband Mark of Oakville, grandchildren, Amy, Alyssa and Christoper Campochiaro, Ethan Zavisza, Cadence Hollis, Rachel and Jay Coffey, Sarah Dehling, Anthony Salerno, Mark Corona Jr. and Adrianna Marti (Ben) and great-grandchildren, Greyson, Alexis, Maxwell, Luis, Ava, Sophia, Reese, Brooke, Chase, Peyton and Amelia and many nieces and nephews.
Patricia was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Dorothy (Groves) Herron, her son, John Zavisza, her stepson, Jay Coffey, two sisters and one brother, Jane, Diana and Robert and one great-grandson, Javier.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Pat’s memory may be made to Sweet Adelines International (https://sweetadelines.com/), St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org/) or to any animal charity of the donor’s choice.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St., Plantsville. Please meet directly at church. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
