Oscar J. Politz, 87, of Plantsville, passed away peacefully after a short illness on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at HCC at New Britain General.
Born in Bristol on October 31, 1928 to the late Emil and Paulina (Bartz) Politz, he had been a longtime Southington resident.
Oscar proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from Peck, Stow and Wilcox, was a longtime member at the First Lutheran Church in Southington and an avid golfer.
Oscar is survived by his sister Shirley Eden of Plantsville, nephew Charles Eden and his wife Donna of NC and niece Diana Kareta and her husband Michael of RI, sister-in-law, Helen Politz of New Britain and many other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 6 brothers; Albert, William, Frederick, Gustave, Edward, Robert and 5 sisters: Lillian, Olga, Emma, Martha, Dorothy.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 26, 2015 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in West Cemetery, Bristol, CT.
