Nell Ziemba

Nell Ziemba, 92, of Southington passed away at home surrounded by her family on Saturday March 12, 2011.

Born on July 18, 1918 to the late Walter and Eva (Belza) Ziemba, she had been a lifelong Southington resident.

In her early years she worked at Peck, Stow and Wilcox, GE, was a traveling court reporter for the State of CT, an irreplaceable office manager for Workers' Compensation in New Britain where she received the Liberty Bell Award, and a stenographer for the Southington ZBA for 35 years where the town proclaimed a day in her honor. She was a member of the Falcons Nest 307, American Legion Kiltonic Post 72, PNA and St. Cecilia's Choir.

She is survived by her niece and goddaughter, Mary Parsons of Southington, her nephew Peter Polanski of Southington, 2 grand nephews: Jayson Dinielli of Unionville and Jacob Parsons of Southington and her great niece Elizabeth Dinielli of Plainville. She was predeceased by her brother John Ziemba, her sister Jean Z. Polanski, and her niece Leona Dinielli.

The family would like to thank her special caregiver Wanda Krol.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 15, 2011 at 9:00am from the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville, with a Funeral Mass at 10:00am at Immaculate Conception Church, 130 Summer St., Southington. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will on be held on Monday March 14, 2011 from 4-7pm at the funeral home.
