Melissa "Missy" J. Botsacos

As Missy’s mom, I think back to January 6, 1971 when I met my baby girl, my friend, my partner, & lifelong treasure. I’ve seen 50 years of amazement, watching her turn struggles into accomplishments.

She is a girl to be admired for all of the lives she’s touched. She has an uncanny way of sensing others needs and acting on it. Her love of animals is profound. Her simple ways of cheering people is a very special quality. Her artwork, paintings, pottery, and cooking have been gifted to many.

Disabled? Yes, but not her tender heart and giving soul. She has truly blessed my life as she has so many. She is my “hero.”

Donations to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd. Newington, CT 06111, would be something that she would have appreciated.

A celebration of Missy’s life will be held at the convenience of the family. Plantsville Funeral Home has been entrusted with handling the arrangements. For online condolences, please visit www.plantsvillefuneralhome.com.

I worked at Walgreens for 13 yrs & Missy was a regular customer. We always had good chats about everything she was so easy to talk too . We both have a love for painting & I went to her Art show at the Arc of Southington. Missy loved to work & too stay busy! After I retired we became friends on FB & she loved posting pics of her dog Daisy & her yummy cooking videos. Missy was a very sweet girl with a big heart. I will definitely miss seeing her around town & on FB. She was way too young! My condolences & prayers to her family! 😔🙏 As Ever, Susan O'Connor

Missy was in my class at Central Elementary School - it was my very first year of teaching and she was in first grade. I remember her as a spunky little girl whose smile would light up the room. I have thought about her over the years and was sorry to hear of her passing. Her mom's beautiful tribute gives us a glimpse of the wonderful life she lived and the light she brought into the lives of those who loved her.

Missy was truly a bright light in this world. Her happiness was clearly evident whenever I saw her. She will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched. May God hold you and help you through these difficult times, and know in your heart that she will be forever watching over you.

I am very sorry to Missy's family and friends for their loss. I was shocked and upset to hear of this news. Although I have not kept in contact as much as time has moved on and I have moved away, I will always have good memories about my friend. I was lucky to have many friends growing up, Missy was certainly at the top of that list. Missy was always very selfless, good spirited, and kind hearted. A very good athlete, Missy was always with us for a game of basketball, football, or baseball. My condolences to Missy's parents, brothers, and to all who knew her.
