Mary J. Meskun, 92, of the Plantsville section of Southington, passed away peacefully with her daughter Joy by her side on January 17, 2022 at Southington Care Center.
Mary was born on March 27, 1929 in Hennepin, MN to the late Clarence and Helen (Peterson) Anderson.
Mary worked as a sales manager for Homer Bronson in Beacon Falls and Interim Healthcare until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, reading and most of all, spending time with her cherished grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Joy Hathaway of Plantsville and Robin Avery of FL and her son Philip Caruso of Prospect; 11 grandchildren; Risha, Shari, Jason, Jamie, Tara, Samantha, Brett, Alyssa, Ariana, Alea, Lauren and Scott, several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was predeceased by her 2 sons; George Hathaway, Jr. and Scott Meskun; 3 sisters, Patricia, Nancy and Phyllis and her son-in-law, Earl “Bix” Avery.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Southington Care Center for going above and beyond in their care for Mary.
Mary enjoyed spending time with her niece Dawn DeSantis and husband Claudio Mancini, including visiting with their rescue dogs. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Dawn’s rescue, Spotty Dog Rescue (spottydogrescue.org).
