Mary (Knapp) Folcik, 94, of Southington, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014 at Sheriden Woods Health Care Center in Bristol. She had been the loving wife of the late Edward Folcik.

Born April 29, 1920 in Plantsville to the late John and Tekla (Zima) Knapp, she had been a lifelong Southington resident.

Mary worked as a tool crib attendant at the former Southington Hardware, retiring after many years of service. She was a lifetime member of the Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church in Plantsville, active in the church choir and as a former secretary of the Ladies Auxiliary and church parish committee for several years.

She is survived by her three daughters: Janice Klimczak of Lowell, MA; Marilyn Folcik of Bristol and Arlene Strazzulla and her husband James of Southington, one granddaughter Katherine Soboleski and her husband Matthew of Farmington and one great-grandson, Ethan James Soboleski, her brother Edward Knapp of Southington and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph, Theodore and Walter Knapp and sisters, Gladys Kostzewski and Janina Kirschbaum.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's name may be made to Holy Trinity PNCC, 200 Summer St., Plantsville, CT 06479.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014 from the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville with a 10:00 a.m. funeral Mass at the Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church, 200 Summer St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity PNCC Cemetery, Prospect St., Plantsville. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 21, 2014 from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home.
