Martin A. Newhart

Martin Alan Newhart, 53, of Southington, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday February 11, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Karen (Collin) Newhart for 23 years.

Born on December 12, 1960 in Waterbury to Patricia (Tuccillo) Macey and the late Gary Alan Newhart, Sr., he had been a longtime Southington resident.

Martin graduated from Southington High School and worked as a machinist for many years. He was an avid ATV rider and enjoyed spending time with his kids and taking them to motor cross events, and loved doing crossword puzzles. Martin will be remembered for his great storytelling and beautiful smile.

In addition to his wife Karen and his mother Patricia, he is survived by his children who he loved dearly: daughters Kristen Goncalves and her husband Victor and Brianna Collin; two sons; Ryan and Tyler Newhart; his grandson, Cristiano Grey; step-father, Jim Macey; three brothers: Gary, Scott and Shane Newhart and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday February 15, 2014 at Mary Our Queen Church, 248 Savage St., Plantsville.
