Marjorie A. (Turgeon) Roth, 83, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the HOCC at New Britain General. She was the loving wife of the late William A. Roth for nearly 25 years.
Born on October 1, 1934 in Hartford to the late Albert and Lucille (Nichols) Turgeon, she had been a longtime Southington resident.
Marjorie was friendly and kind and always welcomed people into her home. She loved cats and was a master at crossword puzzles.
Marjorie is survived by four children: William A. Roth Jr. of New Britain, Patricia Roth of Southington, Aaron Roth and his wife Tammy of Bristol and Brenda Paluszewski and her husband Marshall of Wallingford; 5 grandchildren: Andrea and Amanda Vajda, and Kaylie, Katherine and Kyle Roth. She is also survived by 4 siblings: Russell Turgeon and his wife Loretta of Newington, Agnes Bart of Southington, Kenneth Turgeon and his wife Pat of Southington, and Marty Turgeon and his wife Carol of Southington, her former daughter-in-law, Anna Roth of Southington and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Jennifer Roth, son, Christian Roth and her longtime companion, George Skrip.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Marjorie’s memory may be made to the Southington Bread for Life, 31 Vermont Ave. Southington, CT 06489. Marjorie was a recipient of their generosity for the last two years.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Calling hours will be held before the service from 5 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
