Marie (Tomkiewicz) Kowalczyk

Marie (Tomkiewicz) Kowalczyk, 91, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at The Summit At Plantsville. She had been the loving wife of the late Stephen Kowalczyk.

Born July 31, 1923 in Southington to the late Frank and Caroline (Albrycht) Tomkiewicz, she had been a lifelong Southington resident. Marie was a longtime member of the Holy Trinity Church.

She leaves behind her sister Ann Butkevich and her husband Michael of Oakville, her nephew Michael Butkevich of Waterbury; two nieces, Nancy Butkevich of Russia and Carol Milo and her husband Jerry of Southington. She also leaves behind 2 great-nephews, Michael and Daniel and her great-niece Shelly, her very dear friend Pat Macey of Southington and many loving cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter Cynthia Kowalczyk and her sister Helen Dubicki.

Marie's family would like to thank the entire staff at The Summit At Plantsville for their kindness and excellent care.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church, 200 Summer St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held before the Mass from 9 - 10 a.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
