Marie L. (Anderson) Bidwell, 91, of Cheshire, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Southington Care Center.
Marie was born on August 6, 1930 in Pittstown, New Jersey to the late Norwood and Anna (Grohman) Anderson.
Before she married, she worked as a model for the Flemington Fur Company. Marie married her high school sweetheart George L. “Pete” Bidwell III, and raised their three children in Putnam Valley, NY. She worked as the office manager at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mt. Kisco, NY for 19 years. After her retirement, she moved to Beacon, NY. She was an active member of the Red Hat Society and the Verplanck Garden Club. She enjoyed cooking and baking and made the best cookies and pies. Marie was very artistic and enjoyed painting and sculpting that won her awards. She loved to laugh and have fun, and will always be remembered as a kind and caring woman with a beautiful smile who was loved by all.
Marie is survived by her two loving daughters, Kathy Gray and her husband Jamie of Cheshire and Karen Levrini and her husband Robert of Wappinger Falls, NY, her seven adoring grandchildren Ryan Levrini (Andrew), George L. Bidwell V, Jen Szova (Frankie) great-granddaughter Freya, Evan Gray (Marlyse), Eric Gray (Christine), Lauren Levrini, Jared Levrini, her daughters-in-law, Holly Morrissey and Jackie Bidwell and many nieces and nephews, including Stanley and Norwood Reid who were all raised together after Marie’s mom passed away when she was only 8 years old. Marie was predeceased by her son George L. Bidwell IV in 2014, his father George L. “Pete” Bidwell III in 2016, two brothers and two sisters.
