Margaret M. Savage, 86, of Watertown and formerly of Southington, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2013 at Apple Rehab of Watertown. She was the loving wife of the late Richard T. Savage.
Margaret was born September 18, 1926 in Waterbury to the late Francis and Margaret (Dean) Cruess.
Mrs. Savage graduated from St. Mary's School of Nursing and went on to work at St. Mary's Hospital as a registered nurse for 10 years.
She leaves behind her three sons: COL Robert Savage of McKinney, Texas; Carl Savage and his wife Patty of Stewartsville, New Jersey; John Savage and his wife Nadine of Watertown and 9 grandchildren: Thomas, Jacob, Alexander, Ryan, Nichole, Christine, Richard, Adriana and John Jr. and 4 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother, James D. Cruess of Bethlehem and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband she was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Amanda Savage and 4 siblings: Francis Cruess, Elizabeth Caruso, Rosemary McGrath and Edward Cruess.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday July 24, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Church, 74 W. Main St., Waterbury. Burial will follow in New St. Joseph Cemetery, Waterbury.
