Margaret Barnett

Margaret “Marge” “Dolly” D. (Hubeny) Barnett, 85, of the Plantsville section of Southington, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. She had been the loving wife of the late James D. Barnett Sr. for 53 years.

Margaret was born on May 29, 1937 in Bristol, CT to the late Joseph and Margaret (Krkoska) Hubeny.  Alongside her husband Jim, she owned Barnett & Hubeny Plumbing in Plantsville for many years.

She is survived by 2 sons, George Barnett and his wife Donna of Aromas, CA and James D. Barnett Jr. of Southington and her daughter, Charlene Barnett and her husband Clint Vaznis of Unionville, her son-in-law, Chester Kloczko of Torrington,  brother-in-law Robert Barnett of Bristol, sister-in-law Beverly Lavigne of San Diego, CA, 11 grandchildren; Katherine, Michael and Mark Kloczko, Daniel Barnett, Christopher and Jason Longo, Matthew Eckert, Chelsea Shay, Daniel Chamizo, Robyn Taricani and Adreanna Barnett, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by 3 daughters, Susan Eckert, Sharon Kloczko and Marie Glen and 2 brothers, Joseph Hubeny Jr. and Paul Hubeny.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington.
