Marcella C. (Billard) Crofton, 81, formerly of Southington, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday January 31, 2012 at her home. She had been the loving wife of the late Ralph Crofton.
Born October 18, 1930 in Petites, Newfoundland to the late James and Pearl (Mauger) Billard, she had been a resident of her beloved Vero Beach, FL for 12 years.
Marcella was best known for her beautiful spirit and her endless energy. Her family loved her and her 'green gloves' and her friends loved her infectious smile. She will be truly missed.
She is survived by her son Kevin Crofton and his wife Lisa with whom she made her home and her daughter Heather Mitchell of Washington; her sister Emily Mauger and her brother Winston Billard both of Nova Scotia; 4 grandchildren: Alicia and Justin Mitchell and Taylor and Jesse Crofton; one great-grandchild Sydney and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves behind many Florida friends and relatives in both the States and Canada. She was predeceased by her brother Harold Billard and sister Syretha Blackwood.

A funeral service will be held at 6:30pm on Thursday February 2, 2012 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Calling hours will be held before the service from 4-6:30pm at the funeral home. A funeral procession will leave at 9:30a.m. on Friday February 3, 2012 from the Plantsville Funeral Home for burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Southington.
