Lorraine “Lori” Jean (Boulier) Hooper, 79, of Southington, CT, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, December 1, 2024, after a brief illness. She was the wife of Robert A. Hooper for 26 years. 

Lorraine was born on June 1, 1945 in Bangor, Maine to the late Wray and Theresa (Portwine) Boulier. 

She worked as an Audit Delinquency Specialist for many years and then at Plainville Health Center, retiring in 2005. After her retirement, Lori opened a store on E-Bay and did fairly well selling clothes. She was also a writer of mystery books and published three. Lori loved writing, cooking and most of all, spending time with her family. 

In addition to her husband Bob, she is survived by two daughters, Debra George and Michelle Rio, both of Southington, six grandchildren, her sister, Shirley DePaulo of Bristol and brother, Robert Wray Martin of New Mexico.

Lorraine was predeceased by two husbands, Jose Guzman and Ronald Wentworth, Sr., her son, John Benoit, Jr. and sister, Darlene Messier. 

Donations in Lori’s memory may be made to Southington Community Services, 91 Norton St., Plantsville, CT 06479. 

A celebration of Lorraine’s life will be held at a later date. She will be interred privately at the State Veterans Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown, CT. Plantsville Funeral Home has been entrusted with handling the arrangement. For online condolences, please visit www.plantsvillefuneralhome.com.
