Loretta J. (Chaco) Casiano, 50, of Southington, CT, passed away at her home on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. She was the loving wife of Jay J. Casiano Jr. for 31 blessed years.

Loretta was born in Agana Heights, Guam on October 3, 1973 to the late Antonio and Virginia (Chiguina) Chaco.

Loretta, affectionately known as “LuLu” by friends and family, worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Silver Springs Care Center in Meriden for the last 17 years. She took pride in her career as a nurse and truly loved her job. LuLu was well loved and respected for being opinionated and honest. She was selfless, genuine and the best “Nana” ever. Loretta was happiest when she was surrounded by her family and her beloved dog Trooper, but also appreciated the peace of her own solitude. Loretta was an island girl at heart. She was well-versed in Chinese Herbs and enjoyed cooking, shopping and watching scary movies. 

In addition to her husband Jay, Loretta is survived by 3 daughters, Bianca Domonique Casiano of Meriden, Desirae Ann Casiano (Paolo Amenta) of Newington and Selena Marie Casiano (Amarilis Colon) of New Britain, her treasured grandchildren, Silas, Aubriana and Aaliyah and Dominique Perez and her two sons, Lukas and Tony Sidoti.  She is also survived by 3 siblings, Tony and Joe Chaco of Guam and Gina Pynes of TX as well as many nieces and nephews, including Jasmine Figgers, Bryan Chaco, Victoria Pynes, JJ Pynes and Ryan Chaco. In addition to her parents, Loretta was predeceased by 2 sisters, Linda Zboral and Connie Chaco.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Loretta’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116 (www.diabetes.org). 

Calling hours will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. with a tribute from the CT Nursing Honor Guard at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
