Linda L. Zakrewski

Linda L. (Petteruti) Zakrewski, 66, of Southington passed away peacefully at HCC New Britain Campus on June 2, 2011. She is survived by her beloved husband and best friend of 49 years, David Zakrewski.

Born in Bristol, CT on June 12, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Petteruti and Georgianna Dilullo. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed being with her family. She was also a lover of animals and was always surrounded by her family pets. She enjoyed knitting slippers for family and friends and was affectionately called the 'Slipper Lady.' Her favorite hobby was caring for her many flowers and plants.

Besides her husband, she will be deeply missed by her children; her daughter Christine Zarrelli and husband Al of Southington, her son Kenneth Zakrewski and wife Cheryl of Plantsville, and her son Richard Zakrewski and wife Karen of Plantsville. She will be truly missed by her grandchildren; Amanda Zarrelli and fianc Joseph Kosko, Michael Zarrelli, Kevin Derynioski, Adam Zakrewski, Sheila Quintana, Steven DePaolo, and her very special great-grandson Evan Kosko.

She was predeceased by her brother Ralph Petteruti formerly of Texas. She leaves behind her close friend and sister-in-law Bilkay Petteruti of Texas and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Linda will be held on Tuesday June 7, 2011 at 10:00am at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
