It is with great sadness that the family of Lawrence “Skip” E. Heil, 70, of Southington, announces his passing on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Summit of Plantsville. He had been the loving husband of Nancy (Brayton) Heil for 34 years.
Born on November 10, 1947 in Manhattan, NY to the late Edward and Gladys (Helma) Heil, he had been a longtime Southington resident.
Skip proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed time spent by the ocean and gardening. He was a very patient and caring man who will be missed by many.
Skip was a loyal and devoted husband, father and Pop Pop. In addition to his wife Nancy, he is survived by his children Betsy (Dereck), Kimberly (Michael), Kevin (Jayne) and his 3 grandchildren, Emily, Adam and Ryan.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Skip’s memory can be made to a place very dear to him, the YMCA Camp Sloper, 29 High St., Southington, CT 06489 c/o Mark Pooler.
At Skip’s request, a private ceremony will be held to celebrate his life. Plantsville Funeral Home has been entrusted with handling the arrangements.
