Kevin M. Butler, 67, of the Plantsville section of Southington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Apple Rehab in Watertown. He was the loving husband of Darleen (Holden) Butler for 38 years.
Kevin was born on May 12, 1957 in Meriden to the late John and Theresa (Breen) Butler.
Kevin proudly served his country in the US Navy aboard the USS Lexington. He worked as a boiler technician for Central Connecticut State University, retiring after 28 years of service.
In 1986, Kevin married the love of his life, Darleen, and they had two children, Kelsey and Christopher. Kevin was the ultimate handyman and a true jack of all trades. He enjoyed being at home in his safe space and was always tinkering with something. He had the incredible ability to make something out of nothing and would help anyone in need, without hesitation. Kevin was happiest at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and Poppi and a wonderful brother and uncle.
In addition to his wife Darleen, Kevin is survived by his daughter, Kelsey Butler and her partner Amanda Richardson of Beacon Falls and his cherished granddaughter, Kaia Butler. He is also survived by two sisters, Maureen Spencer of Middletown and Barbara Jones and her husband Brian of Bristol, sister-in-law, Kim Wolfe and her husband Bob of Plainville, nephews; Sean, Cody, Tyler and Austin, nieces; Shannon, Krystal, Megan, Taylor (Dave); great-nephews, Oliver, Carter, Mason and Grayson; great-nieces, Abby and Mallory and too many great buddies to name. In addition to his parents, Kevin was predeceased by his son, Christopher Butler, his brother, John Butler and his brother-in-law, Douglas Spencer.
Kevin’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the entire staff at Apple Rehab in Watertown for their compassion and the excellent care they provided. They will be forever grateful.
